We had previously built a website for Hoddam Contracting when they were struggling with another content management system. Our solution at that time had been to migrate their Drupal website over to WordPress and to freshen up the design, as the site they had was working for them other than the difficulty they were experiencing in keeping it up-to-date.
Three years on (a time period we would always suggest is optimum for reviewing your website), they decided the website could be more enterprising, and a solution for sharing product information and standards more readily with customers. As discussions progressed it was clear that they were missing a trick in not utilising the website as a useful portal of information.
A true project, we collectively took the path to enhance what worked well with the first Wordpress web site that we built for them, rebuilding it to offer as much flexibility as possible in making the new site more product based. Keen to have a fresher look, Hoddam Contracting arranged for new images, giving the site a crisper, more contemporary feel than the previous one.
Utilising WooCommerce, we laid out their key products by category with clear 'Product Enquiry' call to actions. As the project progressed, more and more of what could be shared with customers via the website was explored with the site now displaying product brochures, important downloads and even a pop-up British Standards disclaimer which they previously had to share via email when customers were purchasing a specific product.
One of the main objectives of the new site was to free up time in repetitively emailing out documents to customers, particularly as the business continues to expand. Hoddam Contracting now have the freedom to point their customers in the direction of an easy-to-navigate website for this important information.
