An independent agricultural engineer selling major brands including CASE and Merlo, RC Dalgliesh Ltd had a website which did not fully represent their great reputation or the quality of the brands they sell and maintain. Keen to be proactive online and encourage by CASE IH to maintain a strong online profile, they were frustrated that their website, built in legacy system Drupal, was becoming increasingly hard to maintain and update.
With an increasing use of the internet across the agricultural sector in finding machinery and equipment, RC Dalgliesh Ltd felt that they were perhaps missing a trick when advertising and promoting what they had in stock. As stock is often fast moving and the person responsible for updating the website has the primary role of engineer, being able to update the website as efficiently as possible was important via mobile.
Based just outside Lockerbie in Dumfriesshire, but with services spanning South West Scotland and Northern England, RC Dalgliesh Ltd required a professional website which gave a nod to one of their main franchises - international brand CASE IH Tractors. With branding of similar colours to CASE and some terrific photography of this and their other key franchises, we were able to design a website which made a clear visual statement as to the services and products RC Dalgliesh have on offer.
Using WordPress and WooCommerce we created a basic e-commerce platform which does not allow RC Dalgliesh to sell directly online, but instead encourages initial product enquiries so that prices can be negotiated and deals can be done. This can now simply be built upon should RC Dalgliesh decide to take the next step and sell some items directly online.
Giving a nod to their key franchises was key in highlighting the variety and quality of what RC Dalgliesh Ltd represent. Increasing encouragement to engage more online we also linked their vibrant Facebook page to the site, creating something a little more interactive.
Our biggest success? Bud, who looks after the website day-to-day successfully manages the site’s content and uploads products through a WordPress app on his phone whilst still handling the day job. So much so that when we arrived to run through a training session with him, he’d already bossed it. Yet more assurance that WordPress is the user-friendly content management system of choice.
And we'll get back to you to discuss how we can help you
