A long established, Cumbrian brewery, Tirril Brewery had a website but as the business evolved it was more and more apparent that the website no longer reflected their identity as a business. Originally built around an online shop, Tirril Brewery had become resolute in their decision not to sell directly online.
With the brand fitting their identity as ‘the Lakeland Brewery’, stylised photography for their printed brochures and refreshed pump clips there would be substantial work in bringing the now outdated website up to speed. As well as the additional of a new directory of stockists based across the Lake District and beyon
There is a personality behind Tirril Brewery and this needed to shine through the website alongside any other marketing. Chris and his team are well known by Tirril Brewery stockists; Chris is very much the face behind the brand so the website had to work with his requirements and also get the seal of approval of his team.
Moving away from direct online sales completely, we included a geodirectory of stockists for all Tirril enthusiasts. With many of these stockists based throughout the Lake Distict, the geodirectory is easy to manage, showing which stockists (often pubs) are dog friendly and is updated regularly.
The website also includes product lists, neatly categorised for current and potential stockists. There is a carefully thought out trade area where they can share printable pump clips alongside accreditation certificates.
The design itself needed to be sympathetic and complement their printed brochures and van graphics; the first port of call for stockists, so that the experience from looking at printed material to finding greater detail online is seamless and in line with the brand identity. Using the photography provided, we packed the site with imagery and useful information, easily available to those looking for it but without boring people with lots of unnecessary content. Using a timeline, we continued to make this a visual process for beer enthusiasts and historians alike to enjoy the tales behind Tirril Brewery.
