Walker Ground Manor is a traditional country house in Hawkshead, the Lake District, encompassing a bed and breakfast and self-catering barn. Initially coming to Freshspace to look at re-hosting their existing website, it came to light that their website had been heavily compromised. As an old website the desire to invest in securing the website and fixing what was unknown, was balanced with the potential advantages of a new website.
It was quickly agreed that a new website would be advantageous and offer real opportunity to improve what was there.
Offering differing types of accommodation in the Lake District, it was clear that there would be a benefit in separating this out; clearly highlighting to visitors of the site what their options may be; whether self-catering or bed and breakfast. With multiple rooms and amenities, the website was also to be a useful resource both to potential and actual guests. All they need to know is discoverable and clearly laid out on the website.
People travel to the Lake District from all over the world, so the owners of Walker Ground Manor were also keen to link in with other visitor attractions and activities. As a beautiful country house images were important and an intuitive and attractive gallery accompanies each of the rooms.
The website is built to an inspire a visit to the Lake District, where guests can immerse themselves in the tradition and beauty.
