As a successful local business across Cumbria and Lancashire, JE Duckett gather much of their work through reputation and word of mouth. With this in mind their web presence has never required much care and attention, their old website having stood the test of time and done the job it was required to do.
Nevertheless expectations are that businesses now have a website which can be viewed with ease on mobile and tablet devices, plus are visible and interactive on social media platforms. This would require thinking outside the comfort zone a little when it came to their digital interactions.
Initially we migrated the hosting and put in place a simple landing page with contact details so that when the new site was to go live we could guarantee a seamless transition. It also meant that the old site, which was now outdated and displayed incorrect information, was no longer the first port of call for online visitors.
We wanted to design a website for JE Duckett Surfacing which showcased the high standard of their work they produce. With well taken photography we were able to visually represent the hard work that drives the business and create a WordPress site where the pictures really do the talking. As a highly personable company who are known largely by reputation, openly presenting the JE Duckett team in action felt fitting.
With several strands to the resurfacing business we designed a portfolio page that cleanly presents the different work they carry out and can be easily added to. The simplicity of the site makes it easy to see what JE Duckett Surfacing are about and the standard of they work too – exactly the style of online presence we think businesses in the construction and service industries require.
For us it was an interesting project and we feel JE Duckett Surfacing have been presented well. We can’t wait to get our teeth into another project of a similar nature as the digital era continues to evolve and capture all variety of industries. Ultimately though, one of the small highlights for us was that the JE Duckett Surfacing logo was originally designed by Darren over 19 years ago!
