A popular, award-winning pub and restaurant based in Kendal, Romneys image had always been important to them. Their existing website, built on a custom CMS, was fitting with their branding but had become difficult to update and manage.
With self-catering accommodation too, it was important that their online presence exceed their good, local reputation and attracted new customers from further afield. It was time for a change without losing what already worked well with the site they had.
Looking for a secure platform which was easy-to-use and update, we built a new website for Romneys on WordPress. The new website was built with some sensitivity to the old website, replicating some design elements.
New photography was taken by a professional photographer which shows Romneys at its best and gives the website a more modern gleam. With increased traffic to the website, activity on social media, and wanting to engage more with customers in this way, a social media feed was added to the homepage so that content is always current.
As with all businesses in the hospitality industry, the true focus had to be on the important information; opening hours, contact details and how to book. We designed the site so that all this information is easy and intuitive to find whilst also keeping the history of Romneys very much at the heart.
